Wednesday VFX Breakdown by Rocket Science VFX
The TV series WEDNESDAY, now streaming on Netflix, features the iconic character ‘Thing,’ recreated with the help of Rocket Science (RSVFX), Tim Burton, Miles Millar, and Allan Gough.
Led by Production VFX Supervisor Tom Turnbull and VFX Producer Kent Johnson, WEDNESDAY became the second-most watched English-language series on Netflix within three weeks of its release. John Coldrick, VFX Supervisor and Kayden Anderson, VFX Producer led the RSVFX team.
RSVFX delivered over 300 shots for the series, focusing on ‘Thing,’ Wednesday’s Scorpio-Pet, digital doubles, CG fire and explosion simulations, and other supporting visual effects.
The integration of ‘Thing’ into the show involved hand acting by Victor Dorobantu, prosthetics, and seamless visual effects by the Rocket Science team.
WEDNESDAY, directed by Tim Burton and created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, is an American supernatural mystery comedy horror series that follows the character Wednesday Addams.
